3. What purposes do we use cookies for?

We use cookies on velipet.com for the following purposes: • Ensuring proper website functionality: session management, security, authentication. • Remembering user preferences: selected language (PL/EN), cookie preferences. • Analytics: anonymous traffic data (page load times, visited pages) that help us improve the service. • Form handling: protection against multiple submissions of the registration form. We currently do not use cookies for marketing or advertising purposes.

4. Types of cookies on velipet.com

Below is a detailed list of cookie categories used on our website:

Essential (always active) ✅

These cookies are necessary for the proper functioning of the website. They do not require user consent.

  • Supabase session: authentication for admin panel users. Duration: session.
  • cookie-consent: remembering your cookie preferences. Duration: 12 months.
  • veli_pid: recognising a returning customer so we can greet you with your dog's name and remind you of an unfinished package. It holds only an opaque, signed identifier (no personal data in its contents) and is not readable by page scripts (HttpOnly). It is set only after you yourself provide your details in the configurator or sign in to your account. Duration: 180 days.
  • veli_pzn: a technical “recognised” marker (holding no data) that stops the page from flashing its content before recognition. Duration: 180 days.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest of the controller).

Functional ✅

Used to remember user preferences. Require consent.

  • veli-lang: remembering the selected language (PL/EN). Duration: 12 months.
  • veli-last-submit: protection against multiple form submissions. Duration: session.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (user consent).

Analytics ✅

Help us understand how users interact with the website. Data is anonymous: we do not collect personal data through analytics.

  • Vercel Analytics: anonymous traffic data (page load times, visited pages, device type). Data is not linked to individual users.
  • Google Analytics 4 (loaded via Google Tag Manager): visit and event statistics (visited pages, interactions, traffic sources). The script loads only after consent is given. Duration: up to 24 months.

Marketing ❌

We currently do not use marketing cookies on velipet.com. Should we implement marketing cookies in the future, we will inform users in an updated version of this policy. Separate user consent will be required.

5. Third-party cookies

Our website uses services from the following third parties, which may set their own cookies: • Vercel Inc. (USA): website hosting and analytics (Vercel Analytics). Anonymous website performance data. • Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC: Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 (visit and event statistics). Scripts load only after analytics or marketing consent is given. • Supabase Inc. (USA): application backend, admin panel user authentication. • Resend Inc. (USA): transactional email delivery (confirmations, notifications). The above entities may process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Data transfers are conducted on the basis of Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) in accordance with Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of the aforementioned providers.

6. How long do we store cookies?

The retention period for cookies depends on their category: • Session cookies: automatically deleted when you close your browser. • Preference cookies (language, consents): 12 months from the date they are set. • Analytics cookies: in accordance with the provider’s policy (Vercel). Exact retention periods may vary depending on service provider updates.

7. Managing cookie preferences

You have full control over cookies: • Cookie banner: on your first visit, we display a banner where you can accept all cookies, reject non-essential ones, or manage your preferences. • Cookie settings: you can change your preferences at any time by clicking "Cookie Settings" in the site footer. • Browser settings: you can delete or block cookies directly in your browser settings. ⚠️ Note: disabling certain cookie categories (especially essential and functional) may limit the website’s functionality.

This cookie policy may be updated periodically due to changes in legislation, implementation of new tools, or changes in the scope of data processing.
